Since it’s been about a month since I wrote a blog that wasn’t a review of some kind or music related I thought it might be nice to do a check-in post.
So, Noble Romance folded, which means my second book The Beauty’s Beast is no longer available for purchase. 🙁
I’m going to re-release it myself soon-ish the way I did with Heir to the Underworld. I’m also planning sequels to The Beauty’s Beast and Heir to the Underworld. After I finish the screenplay, the Troll book, and probably another contemp romance. I’m excited to get back into Freddy’s world and back to my werewolf knight, but they gotta wait their turns. Must write faster…must write faster…
Viable Paradise is looming on the horizon. I’ve got my tickets and everything, excited to see Martha’s Vineyard. Excited to write! That is going to be so fun.
I guess I don’t have much to report. I just wanted to wave at y’all so you remembered things besides reviews and music happen on the blog. So…hey! *waves*
Y’all want to see some cool links I found on the internets?
*Article by Sophia McDougal: I hate Strong Female Characters
“Nowadays the princesses all know kung fu, and yet they’re still the same princesses. They’re still love interests, still the one girl in a team of five boys, and they’re all kind of the same. They march on screen, punch someone to show how they don’t take no shit, throw around a couple of one-liners or forcibly kiss someone because getting consent is for wimps, and then with ladylike discretion they back out of the narrative’s way.”
*Somewhat timely after the Batman casting announcement: “Who Would Win: Superman or Batman?”
“If the writer likes Batman more: Batman wins.If the writer likes Superman more: it’s a tie or they’re distracted and work together against a common third opponent. Superman fans are less awful. If it’s a fight to the death: neither of them kill people. Superman eventually wins by having a longer lifespan. Alternatively, Batman wins because Superman’s died before and thus he outlived him.”
